Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"4.5/5 Reason for -0.5: service is somewhat slow due to limited staff. However, amazing place, highly recommended. Very recommended in fact. Here's why: Food (5/5) - got the black garlic ramen: - Pork belly: perfectly cooked. Soft, juicy, fat well-rendered. Not brittle, not overly soft where it collapse, not chewy or tough. Balanced texture and flavor. - Broth: Excellent depth of flavor, you can taste the bone broth taste with the black garlic as additional flavor. - Noodle: Could use more texture and authenticity (I don't think they make it there). Taste decent but still complements well enough. Value (5/5): - You can't really find ramen below 300 Pesos and really good ramen too. Most of the time its decent but this is good. For 265 pesos this is really excellent for that price point especially a foreigned food in the Philippines."
" Somewhere in Between The Shoyu opens with a gentle umami on the first few slurps, then gradually softens. Instead of building saltiness or intensity as you go, the flavor relaxes. That tapering effect makes the broth feel controlled and measured. It stays light throughout, sitting below the usual weight of a typical tonkotsu. For diners who prefer subtlety over heavy, coating richness, this direction can be appealing. The Black Garlic makes the contrast clearer. The umami and roasted garlic notes are more pronounced, yet the base remains light. You taste the darker profile, but it never turns overpowering. It follows the same philosophy as the Shoyu, just with more character layered on top. Even though I prefer hard noodles, but the noodles here are firmer than my preference. They hold their structure well, but I would have wanted a bit more softness. The strands are also shorter than ideal, which slightly affects the slurp experience. For me, noodle texture and length are major factors in ranking a bowl, and this is where the score drops. The chashu takes a different approach. Instead of going ultra soft, it leans chewy with a noticeable charred finish. There is a torched flavor that brings out a grilled profile, and you clearly taste the flame. Personally, I prefer this kind of chew where the meat has texture and presence rather than dissolving immediately. It gives the mouth something to work with and makes each bite feel intentional. Price becomes the strategic advantage. This is roughly fifty percent more affordable than many top tier ramen spots in Metro Manila. When measured against cost, the value becomes clear. You get a solid, well-balanced bowl without paying premium pricing. This earns a place in my Top 20 ramen in Metro Manila. Not elite tier, but competitive. Would I come back right away? Not for now. If a bowl suddenly appears in front of me? I would still finish it."
"Reasonably priced delicious ramen! Black garlic ramen is a must try! The restaurant can fit around forty people and available street parking and or parking building beside. Service is commendable. We'll definitely come back for more!"
"Well.. That ramen for that price? Count me in! Great little spot for a getaway from your Filipino cuisine if you're a tourist in Manila. I'm guessing locals appreciate it to! Great ramen (the black garlic one for me!), nice vibe, cool staff. Definitely will try to come back to it before leaving the country."
"The staff here were really nice! The food was alright, but what really stood out was how kind and friendly the staff were. The prices were also very reasonable for the location. I ate here because I was staying at the Eton Mini Suite right above, and it was the closest restaurant I could go to. I had the katsudon, and it was yummy. Definitely good value for the price. The service was fast, and overall, I left happy and satisfied. I’d definitely come back."
"My go to spot for really good ramen that doesn’t make me think twice about budget. This time though I veered from my usual Shoyu Ramen and tried their new dish, Chicken Namban. It was good I must say. The chicken karaage coated with a sweet soy glaze, pickled onion, leeks and that white sauce were perfect altogether. I wish they could serve more rice since the karaage serving was really generous. Service was nice and attentive. Bill out was quick and I’m lucky to have been seated without the wait which usually happens during lunch time."
"The most bang for your buck Ramen place I’ve ever been to yet! All ramen options are more or less ₱300 only, yet they didn’t skimp out on the flavor, ingredients, and portion size. Sooo delicious, I would say on par with Ippudo and Mendokoro and the likes. I’m still amazed to find ramen this cheap and tasty, especially among overpriced ramen restaurants. Hope they don’t raise their prices because I’ll definitely be a regular. In photo: Tantanmen and Black Garlic"
"Nice place and delicious ramen. The both is rich and not too salty. The place is clean. The staff are very friendly, thank you"
